I'm off today, so generally I wouldn't blog, but I was told by some of my family members that sometimes they would like to leave comments and they can't because there's no blog entry to attach them to, so from now on I'm back to blogging every day so that my critics will always have a forum. Though I can't promise they'll be very long.

I get pulled over by the police a lot. It is not that I am a particularly hazardous driver, it is just that I am always in a hurry. (Also, as a member of a recognized minority group I'm not sure that there isn't some discrimination going on.) At any rate I wanted to pass on a helpful hint to those who may not have as much experience with dealing with the police. When you are pulled over, they always ask if you were wearing your seatbelt. Say no. (This is easy for me since I never wear a seat belt, but whether you wear it or not, say no anyway.) Every time I have done this, the officer thanks me for my honesty and gives me a ticket for not wearing my seatbelt. This is a lower priced ticket plus it is not a moving violation. I also think it makes the officer look more vigilant to be giving out tickets for no seat belt.

Of course this advice doesn't apply if you are female. In that case, just cry and you won't get any ticket at all.

I used to use this with not having my drivers license. I did find though that if you have a radar detector all bets are off :)

Both times I've been pulled over I've had my seatbelt on. Is it better to take it off and say you weren't wearing it or leave it on and say you weren't wearing it?

I'd say leave it on and say you weren't wearing it...those sobriety tests are very fun to take:)
