I'm finally ready to start Christmas shopping. Before I can go shopping, I have to know what I'm going to buy and exactly where I'm going to buy it. At that point it simply becomes a matter of walking into the store, grabbing it, paying for it and walking back out. The ideal shopping trip takes less than 10 minutes. Actually the term "trip" may be inaccurate: the ideal stop takes 10 minutes. I'm going to make multiple stops, so the whole thing, with driving, might take me as much as 45 minutes. Anything less than an hour is probably okay; over that and I'll feel like a failure.

I'm going in

Two posts about all the thoughtful, nice things that others have gotten for you, then one post on how little effort you intend to allocate to reciprocate. Is irony the word I'm looking for here? Surely there must be a better word.

Perhaps... hypocrisy?

If you can do all your Christmas shopping in 45 minutes and/or be in and out of a store in ten minutes I would say you put in a lot of thought. I tried to get into a store yesterday morning and it took me ten minutes just to park and walk to the door. I can't wait to hear the time difference between how you think it will go and how it goes so make sure you blog that.

Reminds me of the commercial where the woman is spending a half hour reading each and every card in a Hallmark-type store to say just the perfect thing.

Meanwhile, the guy happens to grab one at the checkstand of the gas station as he's purchasing his beer without even looking at it.
